Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, inspections, and related tasks, while delivering an excellent customer experience. You’ll maintain a clean, safe work area and may advise customers on recommended services and repairs.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, a High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and willing to grow in a fast-changing industry.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Attend formal training sessions to stay abreast of new automotive technology.
• Perform oil changes and filter changes.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
• Inform store management of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Follow company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
