Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a customer-focused associate to serve on the service desk, sales floor, and register. You will engage customers, schedule appointments, and promote parts and services to keep vehicles running at peak efficiency.

The role requires strong communication and customer service, plus basic math for commissions and discounts. Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced retail automotive setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to calculate commissions and discounts.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store. Engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, understand needs, communicate processes and timelines, and sell parts and service.
• Manage service desk and register transactions, vehicle inspections, and knowledge of parts and services to support profitability.
• Assist Management with customer care, work order and register tasks, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering.
• Follow all cash, credit, check, refund and return policies; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform routine express automotive services: tire mounting, balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrication, filter and bulb replacement, battery installation, and safety checks.
• Maintain safety procedures and proper service per SOP directives.
• Support a safe, compliant work environment with management.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
