Job summary

Sonic Automotive is seeking a Service Advisor to schedule service work in the service department and to upsell and communicate required maintenance to customers. The role involves greeting customers, providing detailed cost estimates, and establishing promised times to ensure smooth service flow.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma and dealership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to pass required background checks and driving record reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of dealership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to pass background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Schedules service appointments and obtains customer and vehicle data.
• Greets customers promptly and professionally.
• Provides complete and accurate cost estimates for labor and parts and sets promised times.
• Monitors repair progress and communicates changes to customers.
• Test-drives or refers to test technician as needed.
• Maintains Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the manufacturer/branch average.
• Advises customers on car maintenance per manufacturer specs.
