Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist II to perform advanced mechanical repairs and manage repair processes for customer and internal vehicles. You’ll interact with customers, explain services, and ensure accurate repair documentation while upholding CarMax quality standards.

The role requires ASE certifications, attention to safety, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of New Associate Orientation Training – Operations.
• Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
• Maintain ASE Certifications in Steering/Suspension, Brakes, HVAC, Electrical, Engine Repair, Drive Train, Engine Performance, and Transaxle.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, and complete 4-wheel alignments.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Consult with customers on repair needs and explain services performed.
• Review and close repair orders with labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Manage parts inventory and shipments to support efficiency.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
