Job summary

Carvana, based in Greenfield, IN, seeks a Supervisory Manager to lead our Inspection Center reconditioning operations. You will supervise a team of leads and front-line associates in a lean environment, ensuring quality, productivity, and cost objectives are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to deliver projects and meet company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Minimum age 18.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record (last 3 years).
• Ability to operate in high-volume, fast-paced environments with high-quality output.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with teams to achieve results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles daily.
• Standing for extended periods; exposure to varying temperatures and noises.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently; knee-to-shoulder lifting.
• Use of PPE such as face shield, goggles, gloves, and other protective gear.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans aligned with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that promotes communication, team cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train supervisory staff.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet performance metrics.
• Engage the team to focus on quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Participate in and lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
