Job summary

CarMax is hiring an Auto Repair Specialist I in Lafayette, LA to perform diagnostics and repairs, ensuring safety and quality for customer and internal vehicles. You will deliver excellent customer service throughout the repair process and support the team with leadership and expertise.

Qualifications

• Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates
• Must be able to read, interpret, and transcribe data for records
• Maintain ASE Certifications as required by state/local law when applicable

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on all vehicle systems
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required
• Manage repair orders, ensuring accuracy in labor, parts, and billing documentation
• Utilize proprietary and universal software systems
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following CarMax 5S standards and safety protocols
• Provide leadership and functional expertise to support associates and managers across the store
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area
