Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist I to perform diagnostics, mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles. You will ensure safety and quality while delivering excellent service and maintaining CarMax standards.

You will handle repair orders, uphold 5S and safety practices, and provide guidance to associates as needed. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment and adherence to CarMax conduct and uniform policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping.
• Strong multitasking to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Where required by state/local law, ASE certifications in relevant areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on vehicle systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required.
• Manage repair orders, ensuring accuracy in labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following CarMax 5S standards and safety protocols.
