Job summary

Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, is seeking an Auto Claims Specialist I to learn the ropes of resolving customer complaints and ensuring we don’t repeat mistakes. You will review claims, investigate basic cases, and coordinate with reconditioning, front office, dealer services, and other teams to gather facts and move cases toward resolution.

In this role, you’ll communicate findings by phone, email, or in person, negotiate repair and pricing where needed, and maintain careful case files.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fluid and changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review customer claims to verify they meet Manheim's National Arbitration policies and guidelines.
• Investigate basic to less complex cases or those requiring more prescriptive decision-making.
• Interface with all departments involved in the complaint during fact-finding and investigation phases.
• Use resources to investigate, document, and communicate to move cases forward or to resolution.
• Use appropriate levels of financial approval authority to resolve cases.
• Evaluate claims by obtaining, comparing, and validating information.
• Prepare and facilitate communication for resolution via telephone, email, and in-person discussion.
• Mediates disputes and negotiates repair/pricing to reach a mutually acceptable solution.
• Maintain accurate files for arbitration cases and verify documentation.
• Escalate with supervisor/manager when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
