Job summary

Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, seeks an Auto Claims Specialist I to learn the ropes of resolving customer complaints and ensuring we don’t repeat mistakes. You’ll coordinate returns and claims with buyers, sellers, and dealers from day one.

You will be guided on responsibilities and will investigate, document, and communicate to drive resolution while maintaining accurate case files and escalating when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fluid and changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer claims to verify they meet policies.
• Investigates basic, less complex cases.
• Interfaces with all departments involved in the complaint.
• Uses resources to investigate and facilitate inspection and documentation.
• Uses appropriate levels of financial approval authority to resolve cases.
• Evaluates claims by obtaining, comparing, and validating information.
• Prepares and facilitates communication for resolution via phone, email, and in-person.
• Mediates disputes and negotiates repair/pricing to reach agreement.
• Monitors and maintains accurate files for each arbitration case.
• Engages with supervisor to determine escalation needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
