Job summary

Travelers is hiring an Associate Claim Rep, Inside Auto, in a role designed to train you in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation. You will work with experienced professionals on auto, heavy equipment, and property claims, with frequent customer contact via phone and written communication.

The program lasts 9–12 months, after which you will advance toward full claims handling. The position offers a hybrid work location model and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; willingness to learn claims management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement within authority.
• Exceptional customer service and commitment to a positive insured/claimant experience.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training on insurance policies, claims processes, systems, and procedures.
• Assess coverage to determine compensability.
• Investigate by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses.
• Partner with resources to obtain evidence and assess for fraud.
• Establish claim reserves and determine payment amounts."
• Develop and execute action plans for claim resolutions.
• Communicate claim status to all parties and maintain records in the claims system.
• Maintain openness to continuous learning and adapt to new technologies and workflows.
• Obtain required insurance licenses within three months of starting.
