Job summary

Concord Insurance Group is seeking an Auto Physical Damage Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and determine disposition of claims. You will provide service to agents and insureds under general supervision, handling claims from start to finish.

The role requires analyzing coverage and liability, learning company procedures, and maintaining professional standards. You will work with various stakeholders, possibly off-site, and pursue necessary adjuster licenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience in property/casualty claims handling.
• Ability to read, interpret, and react to documents such as insurance policies, procedure manuals, and legal documents.
• Ability to assemble information, develop opinions, and clearly express decisions using sound reasoning and judgment.
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Ability to communicate, in both oral and written formats, in a polite, clear, concise, and accurate way.

Responsibilities

• Assemble facts, determine coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, and analyze liability.
• Make payments in accordance with coverage, damage, and liability determination and perform other functions or duties to properly adjust the loss.
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge of Company insurance products.
• Learn and comply with claim handling procedures.
• Develop skills in claim negotiations and settlements.
• Effectively service needs of agents, insureds, and others.
• Meet with people involved with claims, sometimes outside of our office environment.
