Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Addison, IL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to assess and repair vehicles to pre-accident condition, disassemble, repair, and reassemble with a focus on speed, quality, and customer excellence. You will coordinate with team members to meet KPIs and act as a Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of technical training or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers using tools to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with parts; repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and attaches parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to spec.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
