Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Elkhart, IN is seeking an Auto Body Technician to provide exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repair, disassembly, and reassembly to restore pre-accident condition. You will work with a team to uphold speed, quality, and customer excellence.

Responsibilities include planning repairs, using various tools, repairing dents and frames, and ensuring work orders meet labor guidelines. Strong attention to safety and detail is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of repair methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare customer cost estimates.
• Repair vehicle bodies using appropriate tools and parts while maintaining quality.
• Realign chassis and frames to fix structural damage.
• Replace or repair damaged sections and glass as needed.
• Weld and reassemble components and apply factory or equivalent paint.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect finished work.
