Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in DeLand, FL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous assessment and high-quality vehicle repairs, restoring cars to pre-accident condition.

You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, align frames, replace parts and glass, and ensure work meets KPI targets, while acting as a Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical school program OR 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair is required.
• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with others in a busy auto body shop.
• Solid understanding of repair methods and tools used in the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Plan repair work and prepare customer cost estimates; use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts; repair glass and interior parts as needed.
• Weld and fit parts; prep and repaint vehicles to factory specs or equivalents.
• Aim to complete work orders within labor time guidelines; inspect vehicles after repair.
