Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in the United States is seeking an Auto Body Technician who will assess and repair vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble and align chassis, and work with a range of tools ensuring speed, quality, and customer excellence.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical school or a 3-year apprenticeship. The role requires teamwork, attention to safety, and the ability to read job orders and estimate repair costs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship required.
• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers and use trade tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare repair work and cost estimates.
• Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections and windshields; repair interiors as needed.
• Weld and fit parts; repaint vehicles with factory specs.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect for quality.
