Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences by assessing and repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will thoroughly disassemble, repair, and reassemble each vehicle while upholding speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and either a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers using tools to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and attaches parts and prepares/repaints vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
