Job summary

ABA Support Services in the United States seeks a Behavioral Health Technician/Direct Therapist to organize data collection, support assessments, and help with clinical activities under supervision.

The role includes lead therapist duties in the absence, staff/parent training, and data-driven program implementation across home, school, and community settings; requires transport and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• One year clinical/home/school experience providing direct services to children with autism.
• Willingness to learn early learning curricula and behavioral principles for functional repertoires.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to work with children across a range of functioning levels and settings.
• Motivated, with a strong work ethic and able to work with minimal direction.
• Capable of independent work and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist in maintaining graphs and summarizing data.
• Write progress notes and program updates; create session materials.
• Support implementation of baseline, treatment, parent training, and generalization sessions.
• Prepare and clean up session-related activities and equipment.
• Disseminate protocols, review protocols, and train staff/parents.
• Follow safe handling and guidance procedures when transporting or working with clients.
• Provide direct client care following prescribed protocols; may be one-on-one or in groups.
• Assume lead therapist duties in the absence of the lead therapist.
• Shadow/co-treat/treat a minimum of 2–4 contact hours per week.
• Report parent concerns to the lead therapist; escalate suspected abuse within 24 hours.
