Job summary

Ability-Builders-Consulting-Co. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician/Direct Therapist to organize data collection systems, assist with behavioral assessments, and implement programs for children with developmental disabilities.

The role involves leading therapy duties in the lead therapist’s absence, participating in client sessions, and coordinating with staff and families to ensure adherence to behavioral protocols and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, education or related field desirable.
• Experience with autism support and behavior programs preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data based on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist with data graphs, summaries and data calculations.
• Write progress notes and program updates, create session materials.
• Assist in baseline, treatment, parent training and generalization sessions.
• Help prepare and clean up session activities and equipment.
• Support protocol dissemination and staff/parent training.
• Provide direct client care following behavioral protocols, may be one-on-one or group.
• Shadow or co-treat for 2–4 hours weekly and report concerns to the lead therapist.
• Report suspected child abuse within 24 hours.
