Sunbelt Staffing seeks a dedicated full-time paraprofessional to support a student with autism in a life skills classroom in a Texas elementary school. You will provide 1:1 assistance and monitor behavior throughout the school day, helping the student stay engaged and safe.

This role requires collaboration with teachers, therapists, and parents, applying de-escalation strategies, documenting progress, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a paraprofessional, especially within school settings.
• Familiarity with supporting students with autism and behavioral challenges
• Understanding and application of de-escalation and self-regulation strategies
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, specialists, and parents
• Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to student care
• Ability to maintain a consistent routine and adapt to evolving student needs

Responsabilités

• Deliver dedicated, individualized support to the assigned student throughout the school day
• Monitor for self-harming behaviors and proactively implement intervention plans
• Assist with academic and life skills activities as directed by the teaching team
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff to develop strategies and document progress
• Maintain detailed daily notes on student well-being and performance
• Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times
