Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support a student in a life skills classroom in a Texas elementary school. This full-time, onsite contract role involves 1:1 supervision for a student with autism and related behavioral needs, under guidance from teachers and support staff.

You will implement targeted strategies, document observations, assist with routines and transitions, and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment that promotes growth and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
• Strong background working with students with autism or behavioral challenges, ideally in life skills or special education settings
• Practical knowledge of positive behavioral intervention strategies and/or crisis de-escalation techniques
• Ability to build trust and rapport with students exhibiting complex needs
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families
• Reliability, patience, and empathy are essential qualities
