Job summary

Rochester Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Paraeducator for West Middle School in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This full-time position runs 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, following the 2026-2027 school calendar.

Compensation is $18.00 per hour, paid per the Rochester Paraeducator Association Master Agreement. The role involves supporting students with disabilities, implementing learning plans, assisting with various classroom activities, and

Qualifications

Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and interact appropriately with students, parents and staff.
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is required.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet responsibilities in a school setting.

Responsibilities

Take direction from building staff and follow student learning plans.
Assist with orientation, reading, art, physical education and other curriculum tasks as directed.
Follow prescribed behavioral management programs.
Assist with development of instructional materials and individual student programming.
Support with students' mobility, self-care and daily living activities as needed.
Supervise students during activities outside the classroom and assist with routine classroom operations.
