Job summary

Rochester Community Schools seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with autism spectrum disorders at University Hills Elementary School. This full-time position is 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, following the traditional 2026-2027 school year calendar.

The role involves implementing individualized learning plans, assisting with classroom activities, supporting mobility and daily living tasks, and collaborating with teachers, therapists, and administrators to help students

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with disabilities preferred.
• Maintain confidentiality and interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Regular, reliable and punctual attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from building staff and supports student learning plans.
• Assists with orientation, reading, art, physical education, and other curriculum tasks.
• Follows prescribed behavioral management programs.
• Assists with development of instructional materials and program implementation.
• Assists with student mobility and daily living activities.
• Supports students during meals, recess and activities outside the classroom.
• Reports progress to the supervising special educator in a timely manner.
• Performs routine classroom operations as needed.
• Supervises students during non-classroom activities.
