Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT, seeks a Behavior Specialist to implement the therapeutic treatment plan and ensure patient safety within the Autism Inpatient Unit. You will work under the Clinical Nurse Manager and BCBA supervision to collect data and document patient responses to interventions.

Position requires experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and may prefer ABA procedures, including data collection and reinforcement strategies.

Formación

• Baccalaureate in a Human Service field with six months to one year of direct childcare work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• OR Associate’s degree in a Human Service field with 2 years of experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• OR 5 years of experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; preference for ABA experience including data collection, reinforcement and instructional procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Under the oversight of the Clinical Nurse Manager and daily monitoring by the Behavior Specialist Supervisor, implement the therapeutic treatment plan and assure patient safety.
• Collect data for functional assessment, observation and documentation of patient responses to intervention under RN direction.
• Provide care to assigned patient under the direction of the RN.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and participate in hand-offs and unit rounds.
• Engage patients in organized group activities and support family training as assigned.
