Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT is seeking a part-time Behavioral Specialist for the Autism Inpatient Unit. You will implement treatment plans, collect data, and document patient responses under RN and BCBA supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Candidates should have a Human Service degree or related experience with autism, including ABA exposure. The unit supports growth and specialized care for ASD patients.

Qualifikationen

• Baccalaureate in a Human Service field with six months to one year of direct childcare work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Associate's degree in a Human Service field with 2 years of experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Five years of experience with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Preference for individuals with experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis procedures with children and/or adolescents including data collection, reinforcement and instructional procedures.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and intervene in destructive behaviors as designated in individualized behavior plans.
• Collect data for functional assessment and document interventions under RN/BCBA supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and daily routines for assigned patients.
• Participate in hand-offs, debriefings, and teaching visits with families and staff.
• Handle crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and least restrictive options.
