Job summary

Centria Autism in Cedar Crest, NM is seeking enthusiastic Behavior Technicians to support children with autism. You will work one-on-one under the guidance of a BCBA, applying evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors.

This role requires compassion, patience, and teamwork. Training is provided; you should be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and obtain CPR/First Aid within onboarding.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping children with autism.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
• 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification and Tuberculosis test.
• Ability to pass a preemployment background check.
• Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Registered Behavior Technician Certification required within 45 days of onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children to implement individualized behavior intervention plans under BCBA guidance.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.
• Collaborate with BCBA and team to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
