Fashionphile is seeking an Authentication Specialist to evaluate pre-owned luxury handbags and accessories from top brands. You will conduct thorough assessments, research authenticity trends, and document findings while contributing to brand guides and training sessions.

The role is fully on-site at our Chelsea, NY flagship with a Tue–Sat schedule (9:30 AM–6:00 PM). Prior luxury-brand experience and strong attention to detail are highly valued in a fast-paced environment.

About the Opportunity:

As an Authentication Specialist you will be trained to evaluate & authenticate pre-owned luxury handbags and accessories from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Hermes, and more! Responsibilities include:

• Conduct thorough authentication assessments on high-end luxury handbags and accessories.

• Perform online research to discover facts and patterns related to authenticity and stay up to date with designer trends.

• Document and maintain accurate records of authentication findings.

• Create or assist in the creation of written and pictorial guides and documentation regarding brand authentication.

• Participate in group information sessions on special topics in authentication.

• Attend all Fashionphile University Authentication and be certified on all brands we carry.

• This position is based fully on-site at our Chelsea, NY Flagship location.

• The regular schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work holidays and some weekends based on business needs. Overtime may also be required. The shift schedule is 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

What We’re Looking For:

• Exceptional analytical skills, ability to research and solve problems that don’t often have a definitive answer in a guide-book

• Extreme attention to detail is essential to prevent errors

• Prior experience working with luxury handbag brands a strong plus

• Full and keen use of senses in order to detect authenticity- vision, smell, and touch

• Ability to stand and perform inspections over a long period of time

• Reliability and desire for long-term employment growth

• Ability to effectively communicate with others

• Experience with customer service communication via email strongly preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently

• Ability to adjust to a fast-paced and rapidly growing work environment

• Flexibility to work weekends as the business demands

Pay Rate

This position begins at $27.00/HR for all New Hires into FASHIONPHILE's New York, NY location. This position is eligible to participate in our semi-annual bonus contests. Every Employee will have the opportunity for continued promotional opportunities via our Benchmarking Program which offers Title and Pay changes as you grow with the company.
