Job summary

SerpApi, a leader in API-based search data, seeks an Events & Sponsorships Manager to own Austin and Central Texas presence. You will host visitors at the Austin office, run sponsorships at conventions, hackathons, and career fairs, and manage community outreach programs with a focus on measurable impact.

The role requires 3–6 years in events/field marketing, budget ownership, strong writing, and on-site availability in Austin, with some evenings and weekend work around events.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years running events, field marketing, community programs, or sponsorships in B2B technology or developer-facing work.
• Demonstrated ownership of a budget, including vendor negotiation and reconciling spend against outcomes.
• Strong written communication. Async, written-first company with coordination largely in text.
• Comfort with event logistics under deadline: contracts, headcount, floor plans, and handling issues on event day.
• Enough technical literacy to explain what an API does and why a developer should care to a non-technical partner.
• Based in Austin and able to work on-site, with occasional evenings and weekends around events and driving within Central Texas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Office Manager with hospitality for visitors, partners, candidates, and team members at the Austin office.
• Own the annual Central Texas event calendar including conventions, conferences, hackathons, community outreach, and university career fairs.
• Negotiate sponsorship tiers, booth placement, speaking slots, and contract terms; manage relationships with event organizers.
• Run booth logistics end to end: build/teardown, staffing, demos, collateral, and lead capture.
• Collaborate with hiring team on career fairs at UT Austin, Texas State, Texas A&M, and local bootcamps.
• Source and manage hackathon sponsorships across Austin and Central Texas, including prizes, API credits, and judging seats.
• Coordinate with Developer Advocates on workshops, office hours, starter templates, and judging at events.
• Design and run internship and local impact programs covering STEM education, nonprofit tech support, scholarships, and mentorship.
• Grow SerpApi presence in the Austin tech community via meetups, user groups, and local partnerships.
• own the events budget, track spend vs. plan, and report on event outcomes.
• Publish an annual recap of local community investment.
