SerpApi is the leading solution to integrate search data into web applications. Our API scrapes search engines, solves CAPTCHAs, and keeps up with changing page layouts in one simple GET request. Our customers include Nvidia, Shopify, Perplexity, Adobe, Samsung and more.
We are looking for an Events & Sponsorships Manager to own how SerpApi shows up in person across Austin and Central Texas. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Austin, TX.
As an Events & Sponsorships Manager, you will host visitors at our Austin office, run our presence at local conventions and university career fairs, coordinate hackathon sponsorships across Central Texas, and build our local outreach and community impact program.
We can offer $75,000 to $95,000 per year (depending on profile), 401k matching up to 6%, Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, and profit-sharing bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Assist Office Manager with customer, partner, candidate, and team member hospitality when visiting our Austin office.
- Own the annual Central Texas event calendar: which may include conventions, developer conferences, hackathons, community outreach, and university career fairs we attend, sponsor, or skip, with the reasoning documented.
- Negotiate sponsorship tiers, booth placement, speaking slots, and contract terms, and manage relationships with event organizers.
- Run booth logistics end to end, including build and teardown, staffing rota, demo hardware, collateral, and lead capture.
- Partner with our hiring team on career fairs at UT Austin, Texas State, Texas A&M, and local bootcamps and CS programs.
- Source, evaluate, and manage hackathon sponsorships across Austin and Central Texas, including prize pools, API credits, challenge tracks, and judging seats.
- Coordinate with our Developer Advocates on workshops, office hours, starter templates, and judging at sponsored events.
- Design and run our internship and local impact program covering STEM education, nonprofit technology support, scholarships, and mentorship.
- Build SerpApi's presence in the Austin tech community through meetups, user groups, coworking partnerships, and local developer events.
- Own the local events and sponsorships budget, tracking spend against plan and reporting on what each event actually produced.
- Publish an annual recap of our local community investment, the way we already publish our open source sponsorship recap.
Requirements
- 3–6 years running events, field marketing, community programs, or sponsorships, ideally some of it in - B2B technology or developer-facing work.
- Demonstrated ownership of a budget, including vendor negotiation and reconciling spend against outcomes.
- Strong written communication. We are an async, written-first company and most of your coordination will happen in text.
- Comfort with event logistics under deadline: contracts, headcount, floor plans, and whatever breaks the morning of.
- Enough technical literacy to explain what an API does and why a developer should care as well as enough understanding to explain it to a non-technical partner.
- Based in Austin and able to work on-site, with occasional evenings and weekends around events and some driving within Central Texas.
Preferred
- Existing relationships in the Austin technology, university, or nonprofit community.
- Experience sponsoring or organizing hackathons.
- Familiarity with open source community norms and sponsorship etiquette.
- Hands-on experience with event tooling, lead capture, and CRM hygiene, plus basic design in Figma or Canva.
- A background that makes you good at hosting people, such as hospitality, conference production, university programming, or theater.
