Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Network Analyst to support on-site network communications across the campus environment. The role offers a typical 40-hour week with some on-call and limited travel for training or events.

A flexible arrangement allows infrequent remote work (<10%). Required qualifications include an Associate degree and basic network certifications (CCT, CCNA) or equivalent experience, plus 1+ year in network operations or desktop support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and basic network certifications (CCT, CCNA), or equivalent work experience.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing and LAN switching)
• 1+ years of experience with network operations or desktop support.
• CJIS training and background check requirements, including fingerprint screening.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for access to sensitive information per project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain network asset information, equipment sparing process, and lab organization.
• Provide semi-skilled field support to install, troubleshoot, and maintain the university’s network and voice systems.
• Maintain relationships with ET and unit representatives to address needs and troubleshoot network/telecom systems.
• Provide basic support for standard network design, troubleshooting, and after-hours event support; drive university vehicles as needed.
• Raise visibility of issues with engineers regarding automation, fault detection, and lifecycle management.
• Support new network technologies through feedback and qualification efforts.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
