The ideal candidate will have a CPA, startup finance experience at Series A/B, Big 4 audit background, 7+ years in accounting, strong internal controls, and experience managing audits and tax filings. AI tools Claude experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• CPA with strong technical accounting background.
• Startup finance experience at Series A/B stage, building processes from scratch.
• Public accounting/audit experience (Big 4 or national firm preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with 2+ years in controller/senior leadership.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations: GL, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Establish scalable accounting policies, systems, and internal controls.
• Lead GAAP-compliant financial statements, board reporting, and investor deliverables.
• Manage external audits and be primary contact with auditors.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights for strategic decisions.
• Oversee tax, compliance, and regulatory filings with external partners.
• Mentor and build a high-performing accounting team.
