Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking a Controller to own accounting and financial operations as we scale toward multi-million ARR. The role focuses on automating the accounting tech stack and building AI-driven workflows that eliminate manual tasks and accelerate insights.

The ideal candidate has CPA or equivalent, 5-8 years in SaaS finance, and a track record of leading close processes. Based in Austin, TX, you will report to the CFO and help build scalable finance infrastructure.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent experience in audit processes and ASC 606 compliance.
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience in SaaS or technology companies.
• Experience leading or owning a financial close process.
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and revenue recognition principles.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools - built automations or used AI to accelerate workflows.
• Proven ability to implement and optimize accounting systems, integrations, and workflow automations.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with minimal layers.

Responsibilities

• Own all accounting operations including monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage the general ledger with GAAP and ASC 606 compliance.
• Oversee revenue recognition, contract setup, and billing data integration from Stripe, etc.
• Prepare for the company’s first audit for FY2026, ensuring audit-ready systems.
• Design and deploy AI agents for A/R, A/P, and reconciliation workflows.
• Evaluate, implement, and maintain automation and AI tools to improve close speed and visibility.
• Manage expense and card program operations with spend analytics.
• Partner with the CFO on system selection and FP&A/tooling rollout.
• Support scalable accounting and finance infrastructure to grow with the business.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with RevOps, Finance, and Go-To-Market teams.
