Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage audit and attest engagements and mentor staff in a fast-paced tax/audit practice. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2-3 years in public accounting.
• Ability to sit for the CPA exam or has passed sections.
• Strong understanding of accounting and auditing rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete audit and/or attest projects for designated clients with minimal oversight.
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews.
• Accept increasing responsibility for engagement management.
• Recognize potential problem areas during engagements and propose solutions.
• Conduct business research – gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports.
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism and service orientation.
• Attend training courses to enhance industry knowledge.
• Improve team profitability by managing time efficiently and contributing ideas.
• Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
• Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not yet obtained.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
