Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is hiring an Audit & Assurance Director or Manager to join the Northeast Region in an in-office role. This position is based out of one of CLA's Pittsburgh or Connecticut offices: Pittsburgh, PA, Shelton, CT, and West Hartford, CT.

You will plan, supervise, and execute assurance engagements for nonprofit and other regulated clients, lead a team, and ensure high-quality deliverables. CPA is required and a proven track record in client service and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation and audits.
• CPA license certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of nonprofit and other regulated engagements as delegated by Principals.
• Lead engagement planning, staffing, and execution to ensure efficient delivery and client value.
• Oversee engagement progress with the Engagement Principal and communicate major decisions and progress.
• Develop a trained team through recruiting, planning, staff development, and performance evaluation.
• Prepare and discuss engagement letters with clients, estimate fees, and obtain client signatures.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs, revise as needed, and present to the Engagement Principal for approval.
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines; communicate developments to the Engagement Principal; ensure client meetings.
• Manage client relationships and ensure final engagement deliverables.
