Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking an Assurance Associate in Florida to prepare financial statements with disclosures in accordance with GAAP. You will document and test internal controls, support reviews and agreed-upon procedures, and travel as needed to meet client needs.

You’ll work within audit teams, applying professional standards, drafting financial statements, and contributing to engagement quality through structured methodologies. Travel and CPA pathway support are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
• Master's in Accountancy, preferred
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exams upon starting employment, required
• Actively pursuing CPA exams, preferred
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, required

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements with disclosures in accordance with GAAP
• Document, validate, test, and assess client internal control systems
• Assist in reviews and agreed-upon procedures engagements
• Travel as needed to meet firm and client needs
• Draft basic sets of financial statements with disclosures
• Apply auditing theory and communicate deviations per professional standards
• Complete BDO work papers following methodology
