Job summary

The Massachusetts School Building Authority is seeking an Audit Analyst I to join the Finance team in Boston. You will audit monthly reimbursement requests for school districts and perform closeout audits on completed construction projects.

Training and support for users of the Pro-Pay system will also be part of your duties. Responsibilities include reviewing invoices for projects from $1M to $400M, identifying ineligible costs, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2-4 years of full-time professional experience in accounting or auditing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other Office applications.
• Ability to work hybrid schedule – minimum of two in-office days per week.

Responsibilities

• Auditing reimbursement requests and related invoices for construction projects ranging from $1 million to $400 million.
• Identify ineligible costs, unrelated costs, scope exclusions, accounting errors, and duplicate costs.
• Proactively communicate with stakeholders to obtain missing materials and clarifications.
• Prepare closeout packages and audit reports for review by Finance Audit management.
• Maintain records to support audit trails and assist with ad hoc data requests.
