Job summary

Boston Medical Center's Audiology Department seeks a Co-op Student to integrate classroom learning with a paid internship in newborn hearing testing. Under supervision, you will receive orientation and on‑the‑job training, apply knowledge in patient care, and adhere to hospital policies while contributing to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required (AHA).
• No Audiology experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs newborn hearing screenings after training and documents in the EMR.
• Learns and assists in basic audiology procedures and screenings.
• Instructing patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment.
• Troubleshooting hearing technology devices, drafting repair requests.
• Assists with departmental administrative needs and scheduling patient appointments.
• Maintains organization and recording of hearing technology equipment and records.
• Carries out newborn hearing screenings and reports to the Department of Public Health; completes clerical duties.
• Works assigned days, including weekends and holidays.
