The AV BROADCAST TECHNICIAN provides AV technical services for The Star in Frisco. Such services include technical support for Control Room(s), audio-video equipment, IT interface, and signal routing/patching. This role is based out of The Star in Frisco, TX.
Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Set up and assist with internal and third-party events, in-venue show presentation.
- Support production truck broadcast engineers and third-party clients with interfacing to house AV systems.
- Ensure that all broadcast and third-party interfaces to the house are routed correctly.
- Works with clients to collect and integrate still and motion graphics for show integration.
- Manages the archiving and organization of electronic graphics, production elements, and related assets.
- Monitors Momentus software for scheduling and event AV requests.
- Keeps up with industry trends to make updates as soon as reasonably possible.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, policies, and procedures to ensure broadcast systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
- Work collaboratively with company/stadium staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficiency throughout the planning and operation of events.
- Serve as AV liaison to event clients as needed.
- Train back-up personnel to ensure that vital positions are always covered.
- Interfaces well with interns and contract labor.
- Monitors the use of materials and expendables.
- Perform other functions and activities across all DCFC owned properties as directed
Qualifications:
- Requires 2-3 years of operational video experience in AV production, Trade School or High School degree/GED required (College Degree preferred, comparable work experience will be considered).
- Strong abilities to organize, plan, and prioritize AV production workflows.
- Knowledge of live broadcast programming concepts, principles, methodologies, and techniques.
- Understanding of and ability to operate video/audio/graphics/lighting equipment for live productions.
- Professional communication skills; comfortable being the point of contact for any AV situation, to effectively communicate with other departments.
- Knowledge of Evertz Magnum router, DANTE, Chyron Hego, Grass Valley switchers, EVS, and Nexio equipment.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software(s), specifically, Photoshop, Media Encoder, and Premiere.
- Deep understanding of video and graphic formats with the ability to encode and ingest files into specific server systems.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure.
- Position requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands or arms, twist, turn, and climb stairs.
- Position requires the ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
- May be required to work for a variety of hours, including some nights, weekends, and holidays, as determined by the event schedule
