Job summary

Phoenix Systems, Inc. is hiring an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, personable, and passionate about consumer electronics and world-class service for high-end clients.

Essential duties include installing security and AV systems, training customers on operation, and handling after-hours calls as needed. A background in networking and wiring, plus Control4 familiarity, is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and Audio Video installations.
• Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV preferred.
• Knowledge of cable types and technologies; ability to choose appropriate cabling for installations.
• Networking setup: routers, switches, DVRs, network components, WAPs, etc.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to clear background check and drug screening; clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and activate security and AV systems and components.
• Review work orders with customers and answer questions professionally.
• Instruct and train customers on system functions and operation.
• Work as Trim Technician as needed and handle after-hours emergency service calls.
• Demonstrate and train customers on monitoring solutions (e.g., Alarm.com).
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring and system problems; maintain neat installations.

Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to join our amazing team. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about consumer electronics, custom installation, and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.

Anticipated start date of this position is November 9, 2026.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation products and lighting
• Communicate with the customer to review the work orders, answer customer questions professionally and properly
• Instruct and train the customer/end user on the system functions and operation.
• Must also be able to work and perform duties of Trim Technician
• Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
• Completely understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Etc.)
• Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
• Understand monitoring protocol with Phoenix/Monitoring Station/Primary Responders for alarms
• Understand and communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers
• Demonstrate and train customers on advanced monitoring solutions (i.e. Alarm.com)
• Troubleshoot and repair security system problems, malfunctions, and false alarms
• Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring installed by the company for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAP's/Basic Audio/Cameras/etc.
• Install, setup and train homeowners on AV component packages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and Audio Video installations required
• Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV preferred
• Knowledge of cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
• Ability to accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
• Knowledge of setup of Networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR's, Network Components, WAP's, etc.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
• Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
• Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
• Clear MVR required
• Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
• Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
• Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

• Active construction sites
• Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.
