Rail Events Productions, Inc. in Perris, CA, seeks an experienced Audio Technician/Operator for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride. You will collaborate with the Sound Designer and crew to install and run all audio systems, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment throughout the run.

The role requires Dante, Q-SYS, and RF/Wireless Workbench experience, plus strong teamwork and communication. On-site, seasonal, non-exempt hourly position with typical evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Experience as a theatrical audio technician.
• Dante level 1 certification required prior to start.
• Experience with RF systems and Wireless Workbench.
• Q-SYS software experience with level 1 certification before start.
• Experience with computer networking hardware and software.
• Ability to work with production staff as a team member.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Job Title: Audio Technician/Operator– THE POLAR EXPRESS Train RideDivision/Department: Rail Events Production/Run CrewReports To: Production Audio Supervisor & Production ManagementType of position: Non-Exempt/HourlyEmployee Classification: SeasonalLocation: Perris, CACompensation: $26.00//HRJob Summary: The Audio Technician/Operator works with the Sound Designer, production staff, and on-site management during load in to install all theatrical sound systems in accordance with the system designs. They are responsible for the operation of the audio systems during the entire run of the event. They are also required to maintain the audio systems and troubleshoot in the event of system problems. They work under the supervision of the Production Audio Supervisors, Production Managers, and Stage Managers. Because of the nature of the live event, they may assist in any event related items as required. They advise the Stage Manager and Local Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the audio designs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work with the Sound Designer and production staff to install and maintain audio systems for the eventOperate, maintain, and repair the audio systems throughout the duration of the eventResponsible for seeing that the sound designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the duration of the eventWork under the Stage Manager to operate the audio systems during the eventAssist the electricians with lighting systems as neededWork with the production staff during load out to see that event space is returned to the railroad appropriatelyWork with the Director and production staff during rehearsals to incorporate last-minute changesBecome familiar with company policies regarding safetyWork with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengersOther duties as assignedExperience and Requirements:Experience as a theatrical audio technicianExperience with Dante. NOTE: Level 1 certification of Audinate Dante required prior to start of employmentExperience with RF systems and Wireless WorkbenchExperience with QSC Q-SYS software.
