Job summary

Rail Events Productions Inc is seeking an Audio Technician/Operator for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride in Oklahoma City. You will install, operate, and maintain audio systems with the Sound Designer and production crew, ensuring artistic integrity during the run and coordinating with Stage Management.

The role requires Dante, RF/Wireless Workbench, and Q-SYS experience, plus strong teamwork and detail orientation. Expect evenings, weekends, and outdoor environments aboard a moving train.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a theatrical audio technician.
  • Certification in Dante Level 1 required before start of employment.
  • Experience with RF systems and Wireless Workbench.
  • Experience with Q-SYS software; Level 1 certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain event audio systems in coordination with Sound Designer and crew.
  • Operate and troubleshoot audio systems during the event run.
  • Assist with lighting as needed and support load-in/load-out activities.
  • Maintain audio designs with artistic integrity throughout performances.
  • Collaborate with the stage manager and production team on changes.

Job Title: Audio Technician/Operator– THE POLAR EXPRESS Train RideDivision/Department: Rail Events Production/Run CrewReports To: Production Audio Supervisor & Production ManagementType of position: Non-Exempt/HourlyEmployee Classification: SeasonalLocation: Oklahoma City, OKCompensation: $21.50/hrJob Summary:The Audio Technician/Operator works with the Sound Designer, production staff, and on-site management during load-in to install all theatrical sound systems in accordance with the system designs. They are responsible for the operation of the audio systems during the entire run of the event. They are also required to maintain the audio systems and troubleshoot in the event of system problems. They work under the supervision of the Production Audio Supervisors, Production Managers, and Stage Managers. Because of the nature of the live event, they may assist in any event-related items as required. They advise the Stage Manager and Local Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the audio designs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work with the Sound Designer and production staff to install and maintain audio systems for the eventOperate, maintain, and repair the audio systems throughout the duration of the eventResponsible for seeing that the sound designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the duration of the eventWork under the Stage Manager to operate the audio systems during the eventAssist the electricians with lighting systems as neededWork with the production staff during load out to see that event space is returned to the railroad appropriatelyWork with the Director and production staff during rehearsals to incorporate last-minute changesBecome familiar with company policies regarding safetyWork with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengersOther duties as assignedExperience and Requirements:Experience as a theatrical audio technicianExperience with Dante. NOTE: Level 1 certification of Audinate Dante required before start of employmentExperience with RF systems and Wireless WorkbenchExperience with QSC Q-SYS software.
