Job summary

Carpenter, McCadden & Lane, LLP, a regional defense firm, seeks an attorney to join its workers' compensation defense team in the Harrisburg area. The role will begin primarily remote and later transition to in-person as the Central PA office is established.

You will interface with clients through litigation and education programs, conduct research, draft pleadings, and collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies. PA/WV/NJ bar eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to PA, WV, or NJ bar is expected.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to workers' compensation laws and regulations
• Assist senior attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical experts
• Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations both virtually and in-person
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and tactics
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
• Stay up to date on developments in workers' compensation law

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Carpenter, McCadden & Lane, LLP is a regional defense law firm serving employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation litigation in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New Jersey.Workers' compensation is an administrative law practice that allows newly admitted attorneys to gain experience in the courtroom early in their careers.With offices conveniently located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, CML has been defending clients for over 20 years. CML is looking to expand its team with a new office in the Harrisburg area.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an attorney to join our workers' compensation defense team in the Harrisburg area. While this position will initially be primarily remote, it will transition to an in-person position as we look to establish a Central PA office. As a workers' compensation defense attorney, you will have ample opportunities to interface with clients directly, both through active litigation of cases and through educational programs.
