Carpenter, McCadden & Lane, LLP is a regional defense law firm serving employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation litigation in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New Jersey. Workers' compensation is an administrative law practice that allows newly admitted attorneys to gain experience in the courtroom early in their careers. With offices conveniently located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, CML has been defending clients for over 20 years.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated attorney to join our workers' compensation defense team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to launch their legal career in a fast-paced litigation practice area or for an experienced attorney seeking career advancement. As a workers' compensation defense attorney, you will have ample opportunities to interface with clients directly, both through active litigation of cases and through educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to workers' compensation laws and regulations
• Assist senior attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical experts
• Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations both virtually and in-person
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and tactics
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
• Stay up to date on developments in workers' compensation law
