Job summary

Haynes and Boone, LLP is seeking an experienced Attorney Development Manager to oversee firm-wide training, mentoring, and performance processes. The role collaborates with partners, practice groups, and leadership to shape curricula and onboarding for associates and lateral hires, including international offices.

The position drives strategic development, budgets, and staffing aligned with client needs, while coordinating with general counsel and the chief talent officer on employment,

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in professional development or related fields with increasing responsibility.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and AI tools Copilot and Harvey.
• Knowledge of UK trainee/licensing requirements is a plus but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and advance initiatives.
• Experience managing teams and direct reports is a plus.
• Ability to work with attorneys, business professionals and external vendors.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage firm-wide in-house legal training programs and presentations.
• Assist with planning, management, and logistics of section-specific training.
• Work with partners to develop strategic training plans for entry-level and lateral hires.
• Oversee design and delivery of in-house and third-party training and development.
• Lead mentoring and leadership programs for attorneys at all levels.
• Manage the Attorney Development budget and resource allocation.
• Coordinate staffing and work allocation aligned with goals and client needs.
• Collaborate with GC and CTO on employment, compliance, and risk matters.
• Oversee mid-year and year-end evaluation cycles and related processes.
• Oversee onboarding and performance reviews for international offices.
• Support talent development and performance processes across the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
