Haynes and Boone, LLP in Dallas is seeking an Attorney Development Specialist responsible for managing firm-wide attorney training, CLE resources, and diversity and inclusion initiatives, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Attorney Development.
The role involves coordinating milestone development programs, orientation and mentorship, training series, and supporting biannual non-partner reviews; strong organizational, communication and tech skills with MS Office, Workday and Smartsheet are valued.
The Attorney Development Specialist (AD Specialist) is an exempt position responsible for managing certain specialized aspects of firm-wide attorney training, including but not limited to serving as a firm-wide CLE resource, supporting training initiatives and programs related to diversity and inclusion and assisting the Attorney Development department with all training programs and the associate evaluation process. This position reports to the Manager of Attorney Development and works closely with other attorneys engaged in training efforts, various committees of the firm, and the heads of the other administrative departments.
Coordinate and execute annual milestone development programs in collaboration with other AD team members and partner with other administrative teams to support attorney development initiatives and strategic talent management objectives. Coordinate and execute orientation initiatives and programming, including mentorship programs. Support section/practice group-specific training series. Assist with the development and implementation of attorney career development initiatives, including professional skills training, leadership development programs and coaching resources. Follow-up with speakers (internal and external, as necessary) to procure materials, provide editing support, and confirm program details in advance of training presentation. Manage logistics, including Outlook invitations, session materials, room reservations, A/V and technology requests, meals, and travel when needed, etc. for integration meetings and training programs. Support the talent management function, including serving as subject matter expert on administration of biannual non-partner review process. Assist with the administration of Attorney Development team initiatives and activities. Liaise with lawyers and staff at all levels and perform other related duties as assigned.
The Specialist reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Attorney Development.
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience with similar responsibilities in a large law firm or professional services organization. JD or other advanced degrees are a plus. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications is required. Experience with Micron, Workday and Smartsheet platforms preferred. Skills: Candidate must be highly organized and possess excellent attention to detail skills. Candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize competing deadlines. Candidate should be comfortable communicating effectively with all levels of individuals in the Firm. This individual has a vital role in promoting and coordinating the attorney training programs and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Position remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the AD department as well as Firm attorney. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.
