Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking a General Manager in Atlanta to lead the store team and drive the client experience. You will coach staff, meet sales targets, and manage store operations and budget compliance to maximize profitability.

With 3–5 years of retail leadership, you will ensure top-tier demonstrations, service, and presentation standards while building strong relationships with customers and colleagues. This is a high-visibility leadership role at a historic design retailer.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, plus interpersonal skills.
• Inspire a team to demonstrate effectively in busy stores.
• Maintain high personal performance standards and ethics.
• Build trust with reports, peers and customers.
• Strong budgeting and financial acumen.
• Experience with POS and MS Office; comfort with basic web and 3D tools.
• Ability to move objects up to 40 pounds; observe safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, lead, and motivate the team with coaching and training.
• Foster the client experience across all store interactions.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly performance management.
• Ensure presentation standards and visual directives are followed.
• Oversee store operations to maximize profit and manage expenses.
• Resolve employee relations issues with HR support.
• Deliver and drive the sales plan.
