Job summary

VHB in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an ATIS Support Engineer to help operate, administer, and maintain the INFORM Transportation Management Center systems. The role focuses on integration of Foundation and OpenReach components and ensuring 24/7 system availability.

Responsibilities include configuring new services, supporting software upgrades, and providing training and documentation to staff. Collaboration with NYSDOT and external partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of ATMS/ATIS system software experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Support ATIS/ATMS operation and troubleshooting for NYSDOT INFORM TMC.
• Configure, customize, and integrate new services and devices into the INFORM ATMS/ATIS architecture.
• Support software upgrades and configuration for NTCIP-compliant ITS equipment.
• Program, reconfigure, and support VMS, CCTV, ramp meters, travel time signs, and detection systems.
• Develop and upgrade system/workstation software to improve performance and reliability.
• Document steps to modify systems and maintain procedures.
• Coordinate with NYSDOT staff, vendors, and partners; mentor and train staff.
