Job summary

City of Golden seeks a Recreation Coordinator - Athletics to develop and evaluate athletic programs, oversee facility rentals, and supervise staff ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for participants and guests.

Under the Recreation Supervisor, you will support budget processes, coordinate with partners, and promote programming while ensuring high-quality service delivery across divisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Administration, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of athletic programming experience required.
• 3 years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop, promote, implement, and evaluate athletic programs, services and resources to meet goals.
• Directly manage rental and permitting processes for city facilities, fields, courts and amenities.
• Oversee assigned athletic facilities, staffing, scheduling, service delivery, rental administration, and safety.
• Assist with budget development and purchasing within policy constraints.
• Coordinate with other departments, external agencies, schools and partners to market programs and allocate space.
• Support implementation of contracted services and programs.
• Conduct safety inspections to maintain a safe environment for participants.
• Prepare and coordinate marketing and promotional materials.
• Assist in data collection and analysis to inform program health and priorities.
• May assist with athletic turf and facility maintenance.
