Job summary

City of Golden is seeking a Recreation Coordinator – Athletics to plan and oversee youth and adult athletic programs, rentals, and events. You will supervise seasonal staff, manage facility operations, and support budget administration to deliver high-quality programs.

The role emphasizes safe, welcoming environments, collaboration with partners, and effective marketing to maximize participation in Golden's outdoor community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Administration, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
• 1 year of athletic programming experience required, 3 years preferred.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) through NAYS preferred.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise youth and adult programs, leagues, rentals, tournaments, special events, classes, and clinics within athletics.
• Directly manage rental and permitting processes for athletic facilities, fields, courts, and amenities.
• Oversee assigned facilities including staffing, scheduling, service delivery, rental administration, and safety.
• Assist in budget development and monitor budget line items with purchasing per policy.
• Market and promote programming in coordination with other departments and external partners.
• Ensure safety, quality customer service, and compliance with department policies.
