Job summary

The City of Greenville, Texas is seeking a dynamic Athletics Division Manager to lead city-operated youth and adult leagues, clinics, and tournaments. You will oversee operations, revenue generation, and customer service while guiding staff and ensuring programs meet goals.

Experience in budgeting, program development, and tournament recruitment is essential, as is the ability to build partnerships with schools and community groups to drive enrollment and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field, supplemented by three to five years of supervisory experience and three years of experience directly administering and delivering athletic leagues and programs.
• Experience with organization-operated leagues including registration, staffing, participant service, and financial performance.
• Proven ability to grow leagues/programs and recruit tournaments; track record of measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees and provide division leadership within the established supervisory structure.
• Develop strategies to increase league enrollment and participant retention, evaluate results, and take corrective action when goals are not met.
• Direct planning, implementation, and evaluation of City-operated leagues and programs including registration, league design, scheduling, and coach/official arrangements.
• Create, coordinate, market, and sell athletic programs and services; collaborate with schools, coaches, and community partners to recruit participants and teams.
• Recruit tournament directors and event organizers; secure new and returning events through city approvals and develop City-operated tournaments.
