Job summary

City of Arlington seeks an experienced recreation services manager to plan, direct, and schedule staff and multiple facilities for youth and adult athletics programs. You will oversee leagues, tournaments, classes, camps and events across a community-wide scope.

Responsibilities include budgeting, payroll and purchasing, plus supervising full-time and part-time staff and volunteers; ensuring safety and customer satisfaction while coordinating with athletic agencies and city departments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facility operations and athletics programming.
• Supervision of personnel and volunteers; assign, coordinate and monitor work.
• Marketing and promotional strategies for recreation programs.
• Understanding of ADA implications for sports programs.
• Knowledge of budgeting principles for athletics.
• Experience administering athletic programs and events.
• Knowledge of sports officiating rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, and schedule staff and facilities for leagues, tournaments, events and classes.
• Direct and manage staff and volunteers to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Develop and monitor budgets to meet cost-recovery targets; handle payroll and purchasing processes.
• Determine facilities and program needs; implement improvements based on feedback.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers; oversee coaches.
